about

Recorded in London in the spring of 1994, 'Sunshine' pairs Louis Philippe with 'French Touch' producer Bertrand Burgalat for the first time and, after 'Delta Kiss', confirmed LP's return to 'pure' pop after the experimentations (with Dean Brodrick) of 'Rainfall' and 'Jean Renoir'. This was LP's first album to be released in France, where the single 'L'Hiver Te Va Bien' briefly entered the Top 30. 'Sunshine' also features LP's first recording of a Francis Poulenc mélodie, which he would later follow up with the album 'Nusch' (also available on Bandcamp). This version of 'Sunshine' is the one which was published in Europe, with the addition of a bonus track, 'Bali Lied', previously unavailable on any Louis Philippe solo release.
